As Binalyze gears up for an exciting year of growth in 2023, it feels like a good time to talk about our workplace culture and why I think it’s one of the most significant contributing factors to our success.

At Binalyze, our culture is everything.

Having worked in the HR/People space for 20+ years, I’ve heard those kinds of statements used over and over again. But, this is truly the first time in my professional career where it’s the truth and not just marketing hype (at worst) or aspirational (at best). 

We understand that our competitive advantage is the team of talented Binalyzers: people with unique skills, diverse backgrounds and differing needs. 

Our team has doubled in size in the last twelve months. Throughout this period of growth, our absolute focus has been on creating an experience and environment that supports employees.

We want all Binalyzers to be purpose-driven, do their job well, and have a clear path for career development and growth. We know that employee growth and development, happiness, and performance, are inextricably tied together. This has been a major cornerstone in our innovation, customer satisfaction, and company growth and performance. 

We prioritize the team's success over individual egos -  it’s always “we before me”. This not only leads to a more harmonious and productive work environment but it also helps us attract and retain top talent.

As we continue to build a fantastic team and product, we want to share a few areas we’ve focused on to reinforce our company values and culture as we continue to perform and scale.

We trust our Binalyzers to get their work done at times that make sense for them and their teams. Binalyze has always been a place of flexible work hours. We know that not everyone can, or wants to, work the traditional 9-5. Binalyzers are entrusted to complete their work on a schedule that best suits their life priorities and are never required or expected to be available off-hours.

  • Work remotely

Binalyze has been a remote-first company since day one and has worked diligently to create an inclusive and productive work environment for everyone. When joining us, we provide a budget to equip your home office and make it a pleasant and productive workplace.

  • Help to find balance

To support every Binalyzer in maintaining a healthy balance between work and home life, we offer b! well days, our quarterly well-being days, a generous global time-off policy, a paid sabbatical after five years of service, and a “work from anywhere” policy for up to a month each year. And everyone gets their birthday off as well.

  • Daily recognition

We focus on our successes and recognise the roles others play in that every day. Through our dedicated reward and recognition platform, every Binalyzer can share their b! coin (our internal  award currency) to recognise their teammates who have demonstrated the company values and culture. In January alone, the team shared 325 messages of thanks and appreciation - an average of 4 per Binalyzer per month!

  • Hiring Veto

When it comes to hiring, we align our values first and foremost. Everyone involved in the hiring process has a veto right, if they see something in a candidate that doesn't align with our values. We want to make sure that every new team member is a good values fit and supports the growth of our culture.

And our team continually tells us we’re on the right track - with our most recent employee feedback eNPS of 73 and 5* glassdoor ratings. Our focus on team and culture has set the foundations for our success and growth, but this is just the beginning. 

Our team has delivered some truly exceptional results in the shortest possible timeframe, developing the world’s fastest and most comprehensive DFIR (Digital Forensics and Incident Response) platform - genuinely innovating and advancing what is a 40+ year-old industry.

This dedication and commitment are only possible due to our relentless focus on the team and culture. Trust and transparency are core principles, and you can see this reflected in our products and the way we work as a team.

And we’re still at the beginning of our journey with many significant people-focused initiatives planned for 2023. I’m so excited for what lies ahead and to share more about Binalyze’s culture in the coming months.
